all suggested to me that origins was designed to be a dual-protag game. In addition to origins and syndicate being developed close to concurrently: Aya's weird protagonist-yet-npc-yet-fully-playable-animated-and-voiced thing, the heavy juxtaposition between how Bayek and Aya grieved and how they contributed to the creed, and the fact that Aya outright 'stole' an offscreen assassination from the player. I have a theory it was originally going to be like syndicate.
